The Strangest Secret Quotes
by Earl Nightingale (Author)

Earl Nightingale’s ‘The Strangest Secret’ is a powerful and motivational audio recording that teaches the idea that we become what we think about. Nightingale explains that our thoughts shape our reality and that by focusing on positive, goal-oriented thoughts, we can achieve success and happiness. It’s a guide to developing a winning mindset, setting clear goals, and staying motivated to reach them. This recording has inspired many people to transform their lives by changing the way they think and approach their goals.

Towards the end of the record Earl challenges you to participate in a 30 Day test that will completely transform your life. For 30 days you will focus on ONE goal that you want to accomplish more than any other goal and you’re going to visualize your success, maintain positive thoughts, and take purposeful actions toward that goal. Review your progress each day, celebrate small wins, and learn from setbacks. By staying committed to this process, you’ll build new positive habits and start seeing real changes, proving that focused, positive thinking can help you achieve your goals

Quotes & Highlights From The Book

While reading Bob Proctor’s Change Your Paradigm, Change You Life he mentioned Earl Nightingale quite a bit. He also mentioned The Strangest Secret a couple times so I figured I would check it out.

OMG! I’ve been listening to this every day for the past week and sometimes even twice a day! This audio is a game changer for sure. I also figured I’d start the 30-Day Test/Challenge he challenged his listeners to all those years ago. If you want to follow along or even join me check out my journal post here.

Although it’s a very small book it packs some insightful quotes and thoughts inside it.

All highlights are quotes from Earl Nightingale unless otherwise noted

Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal

The traditional meaning of success: a person or thing that achieves desired aims or attains fame, wealth, etc. This definition of success that Earl gives really makes me stop and think about it. Success isn’t just about reaching a big goal or dream. It’s about making steady progress toward something important and meaningful to you. As long as you’re working toward a goal that you believe is valuable, and you’re making progress, you are already successful. It’s about the journey and the steps you take along the way, not just the end result.

Success are those who are doing what they want to do

This goes in line with his definition of success. If you are doing something that you love and are passionate about then you are a success.

People with goals tend to succeed because they know where they are going

When you have a goal, you have a clear direction and purpose. You know what you want to achieve, so you can make a plan and take steps to reach it. This focus and direction help you stay motivated and make better choices, leading to success.

A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it. – Marcus Aurelius

A man is what he thinks about all day long! – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Reading these personal growth books, listening to podcast on personal development and reading the Bible the one theme I keep seeing over and over again are that our thoughts and what we think about is at the center of changing our lives for the better.

Everything comes if a man will only wait! – Benjamin Disraeli

If you think in negative terms you’ll get negative results. If you think in positive terms, you will achieve positive results – Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

Plant success or failure – the mind doesn’t care what you plant. Whichever one you’re planting is what you are reaping.

I haven’t stopped thinking about this quote and the example that Earl gives in his spoken word. He explains our minds as soil and no matter what you plant in the soil it is going to grow. If you plant corn and night shade which is a poisonous plant, they both will grow. The soil doesn’t care what you plant just like our minds. We can choose to plant positive or negative thoughts and that is what will grow.
